Chief John Okiyi Kalu, former Commissioner for Information in Abia State, has dismissed the notion that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) failed in the state, citing the party’s 12 members in the House of Assembly as evidence of its strength.
Speaking with journalists, Kalu alleged that individuals who defected from PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Labour Party were those with questionable integrity, seeking protection or hungry for power.
He specifically mentioned Governor Alex Otti, a former PDP member, as one of those who left the party after failing to secure a ticket in 2015.
