Uyo, Akwa Ibom State – The Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Education has suspended the recent posting exercise for teachers, vice principals, and principals of public secondary schools in the state, following controversy surrounding the process, IgbereTV reports.
In a press release issued on September 15, 2024, and signed by the permanent secretary Mrs. Stella Etukakpan, the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Idongesit Etiebet, directed the immediate suspension of the exercise and reversal of all postings carried out during this period.
According to the press statement, the decision was made to prevent disruption to the smooth resumption of schools scheduled for September 17, 2024. Affected teachers, vice principals, and principals have been instructed to return to their previous duty posts until further notice.
The ministry emphasized its commitment to ensuring quality service delivery in the education sector, aligning with Gov Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda.
The suspension aims to address concerns and ensure a seamless start to the new academic session.

The statement reads in part
“The attention of the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Idongesit Etiebet has been drawn to the controversy that has trailed the recent posting exercise for Teachers, Vice Principals and Principals of Public Secondary Schools in the State, carried out by the State Secondary Education Board.
“Worried that the exercise may adversely affect the smooth resumption of schools scheduled for Tuesday, September 17th 2024, the Honourable Commissioner has directed the immediate suspension of the exercise and reversal of all the postings carried out within this period.
“Consequently, affected Teachers, Vice Principals and Principals are directed to return to their previous duty posts till further notice.

rnor’s ARISE Agenda.”
