Isaac Fayose, a Nigerian businessman and political commentator, has claimed that five serving APC governors are secretly supporting the NDC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a viral video, Fayose congratulated the NDC and said he personally attended a meeting with the governors, where they allegedly listed their terms and conditions for supporting the party.
According to Fayose, one of the governors’ major requests was that Wike should not be allowed to win the FCT and Rivers State for the APC. He said he told them that Wike is not popular in Abuja and that the APC is also not popular in Abuja and Rivers State.
However, Fayose claimed the governors told him their concern was not about popularity but about how election results could allegedly be manipulated and announced.
Fayose went further to make another serious allegation, claiming that the APC is already “writing results” even before the election. According to him, the governors said they were aware of this but wanted to know how the APC would be able to carry out such a plan.
He also claimed that the governors were willing to offer ₦200,000 per polling unit to every NDC agent who would stand their ground against alleged election rigging in Rivers State and the FCT.
Fayose further claimed that the governors told him they still want Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom they referred to as “Asiwaju,” to win the presidential election. Their alleged objective, according to him, is specifically to ensure that Wike loses the FCT and Rivers State.
He said the governors do not want their names made public because they remain members of the APC, but are allegedly willing to “pay the bills” to ensure that Wike does not retain control of the two areas.
The identities of the five governors were not disclosed in the video, and none of the alleged governors has publicly confirmed the claims. The APC has also not publicly responded to Fayose’s allegations at the time of writing.
Fayose’s claims have generated reactions online, with some people describing the alleged development as significant while others are calling for evidence and confirmation.
For now, the claims remain based on Fayose’s account of the alleged meeting and have not been independently verified.
