Hon. Ajang Alfred Ilia, representing Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency of Plateau State, defects to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a letter read by the Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, Ilia stated that his reason for defection was to align with the national development agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
This raises the question of the stability of the opposition Labour Party amid the defection of six House of Reps members in one week.
Last Thursday, Tochukwu Chinedu Okere, Donatus Matthew, Akiba Bassey, and Esosa Iyawe—moved to the APC. Similarly, on Tuesday, Daniel Chollom, representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency in Plateau State, also left the Labour Party for the APC.
