The incident happened in the coastal city of Mombasa, Kenya.
In a viral video that was seen by Igbere TV reporters, the man who had climbed on top of a statue, is seen holding the Kenyan flag and engulfed in fire.
Though he was later rescued by onlookers, he sustained severe burns and was subsequently rushed to a nearby hospital.
