A new yam festival celebration (Iri ji na oriri Agwu) of Doctor Kalu Temple TV is set to hold on 20th of August 2023.
The time and venue for the epoch-making event will be by 12noon to 5pm at Ozu Abam Onyeerubi Abia State, Nigeria.
Speaking with our correspondent, Doctor Kalu said the event will attract many dignitaries from all walks of life who want to experience the culture of Abam people.
Doctor Kalu noted that Abam community is known for its rich cultural heritage and he wants to use the occasion of the new yam festival celebration to showcase it to the world.
He also said the culture of yam cultivation and preservation is an age-long attribute of the Abam people which has successfully travelled from the time of our ancestors down to this day.
IGBERE TV gathered that the new yam festival also known as Iri ji is an annual cultural festival by the Igbo people usually held at the end of the rainy season in early August to October every year.
Doctor Kalu further urged Abam people to come out en-masse and join in the celebration.
