Tolu Ogunlesi, former aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, says his X account has been hacked and is being used to post political messages attacking the President Bola Tinubu government.
He noted that the hackers are also posting fraudulent cryptocurrency content.

In a statement, Ogunlesi said X notified him on October 3 that the password and phone number linked to his account, @toluogunlesi, had been changed despite two-factor authentication being enabled.
βEvery post, reply and direct message from @toluogunlesi since 3 October has been made by the hacker, not by me. I do not promote, endorse or solicit investment in any cryptocurrency scheme,β the statement reads.
βThe account has also been used to post political content, including attacks on the current government. These posts were not written by me and do not reflect my views. Nor do they reflect the way I have engaged in public debate over many years.
βI would ask that they not be attributed to me or treated as my position on any issue.β
Ogunlesi urged the public not to click links shared through the account, send money or digital assets in response to its posts or messages, or share personal or financial information.
He also asked anyone approached through the account to report same to X and alert others.
βI hope X will act promptly to help me recover the account,β he said.
βI will confirm publicly once it is back under my control. I am grateful to everyone who has flagged the fraudulent posts.β
