Recently, I have been following the political trend in Abia State with keen interest, though,not pleased with the political brouhaha in the various political parties, except one or two that have maintained decorum and have been focused in their political pursuit at all levels in the state.
Many Abians have expressed their utter disgust against the abysmal performance of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in God’s own state which has made many and even those in diaspora to wonder if truly Abia is God’s own state and are tempted to christen it as…. Nevertheless, God in his manifestations has shown that He has heard the yearnings of the masses, ranging from school teachers,parastatal staff, Pensioners,Doctors , infrastructural decay,to mention but a few . Many have been starved to death.The ruling party in Abia State is just recovering from the rude shock caused by the death of a renowned Professor of Optometry who was her governorship flag bearer.Just of recent too,the certificate saga trailing the governorship candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), which is still pending at the apex court of our land is yet to be determined and God knows when.It is just few weeks back that the the ripples in All Progressives Congress( APC) settled with the Supreme court deciding the authentic governorship candidate.
Now, except the candidate of Action People’s Party (APP), Labour Party and Young Progressives Party (YPP) that have not tasted nor experienced the bitter pill of litigation after the governorship primaries of the various political parties.Since it has been the yearnings of majority of Abians that the zone that ought to produce the governor should be Abia North,it then means that providence has paved way for the Candidate of APP in the person of Sir Mascot Uzor Kalu,a vibrant, astute, dogged, pragmatic, energetic, amiable, philanthropic and humane young man whose mien is infectious and irresistible. When I hear that the only thing against this saleable governorship candidate of APP is that he is the younger brother of the former governor now distinguished Senator of the FRN,I ask myself,is Mascot Uzor Kalu not matured to go for what he wants as an independent person? Nobody has been able to impugn his credibility and therefore,he is eminently qualified to steer the ship of Abia State as the governor.
The four front contenders, that is,the candidates of APC,LP, PDP and YPP are from Abia Central Zone, then,the people of Abia North should rise up to the challenge of reclaiming what is due to them by coming together to give their bulk vote to the only candidate that God has positioned to carry the cross of Abia State with vigour. Sir Mascot Uzor Kalu who from inception, has proved that he is a child of destiny,requires the support of all. If only the people of Abia North would realize that God has heard their yearnings for equity to be maintained,the ball in now in their court to take their destiny in their own hands and vote massively for the Candidate of APP. Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu as “NWA ABA” would surely get the support of “NDI ABA” to emerge victorious come March 11,2023.
If Senator Orji Uzor Kalu did not owe teachers,but sustained free tuition in Abia State,paid civil and public servants their entitlements including leave allowance which has been forgotten in Abia State since he left office,if pension and gratuity of retirees could be handled with ease despite the meagre allocation then,if free medical services and other incentives were made possible,why do we think that Mascot Uzor Kalu would not leverage on such indelible and tangible achievements and improve on them? Yes,OUK as a human being who can be fallible, might not have done what everyone needed or expected,but to a very great extent,he remains the best governor Abia State has ever had comparatively.Apart from personal animosity that some whom he brought to political limelight may posit against him,I stand to be challenged in which area subsequent administrations in the state out performed OUK.
The people of Abia North, this is a clarion call for you to cash in on providence and do the needful by casting your votes in favor of your own that would not be removed from Office after victory as the legal battle may not abate .It is better you secure your vote once and for all by voting the only candidate from Abia North that has no pending litigation against him. Sir Mascot Uzor Kalu,a man of destiny would not disappoint Abians if elected as Governor come March 11,2023.
