The Edo State College of Nursing Sciences has announced vacancies for position of Librarian and Chief Security Officer of the institution, inviting applications from qualified candidates to fill the posts.
Osayuki Jackson Obaseki, the College’s Registrar, announced the vacancies in a statement issued on Monday and made available to newsmen, in Benin City.
Other vacant positions announced by the College Registrar include: Midwife Educators, General Studies Tutors, Auditors, Facility Officers, Security Officers, Drivers and Cleaners.
According to Obaseki, the deadline for submission of application is 25th April, 2022, and all applications must be completed online.
REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants shall be professionals in the aforementioned fields and duly certified and/or registered by their regulatory bodies to practice in such specialties and holders of current practicing license(s).
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE POSITIONS
LIBRARIAN:
– Candidates should be holders of Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Library Sciences from recognized universities with at least five (5) years teaching, research and administrative experience in recognized college/schools.
– Associateship or Fellowship of a recognized institute of Librarians.
– Applicants must be computer literate with cognate experience in e-library.
– Must be computer literate.
– Applicants shall be professionals in the aforementioned fields and duly certified and/or registered by their regulatory bodies to practice in such specialties and holders of current practicing license(s).
– Candidates must have completed the mandatory National Youth Service Corps Scheme (NYSC).
CHIEF SECURITY OFFICER:
The Chief Security Officer shall possess the following qualifications:
– A First Degree or its equivalent in Sociology and any other related discipline in the Humanities or Social Sciences.
– Minimum of 12 years post qualification working experience in a similar role, 5 years of which must be at a senior level.
– Must be a retired member of the Force (Nigeria Military, Nigeria Air Force, Nigeria Navy & Nigeria Police Force etc.).
– Experience in incident reporting, incident mapping, intelligence collation, and analysis, as well as security assessments and reporting, liaising with established security agencies such as the Nigerian Police, Nigeria Security, and Civil Défense Corps, etc.
– Ability to present data, and give insights to guide decision making,
Must be creative with strong execution and negotiation skills.
MIDWIFE EDUCATORS:
The Midwife Educator must possess the following qualifications:
– Registered and licensed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) to practice
– Must have a first degree in Nursing
– A minimum of three (3) Years teaching experience
– Must be computer literate
GENERAL STUDIES – (English, Physics, ICT, Nutrition, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Sociology/Psychology, Lab Technician).
The lecturers in general studies shall possess the following qualifications:
– Must have a relevant first degree in their subject area and a Masters’ degree is an advantage.
– A minimum of three (3) years teaching experience
– Must be computer literate
AUDITORS:
The Audit shall possess the following qualifications:
– Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in Finance/Accounting/Operations/Project Management;
– ICAN/ACCA will be an advantage.
– 3-5 years of experience in Internal Audit/Compliance/Investigation related roles.
– Audit experience with International Non-Governmental Organizations is a plus
– Knowledge of risks, internal controls and experience in applying them to plan, perform, manage, and report on the evaluation of various business processes/areas/functions.
– Knowledge of technical aspects of accounting and financial reporting
– Ability to work independently with limited directions and guidance, and provide appropriate support to other internal audit project team members.
– Ability to transform data into information
– Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
– High sense of ethics, integrity, and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
FACILITY OFFICERS:
The Facility officers shall possess the following qualifications:
– A first Degree in Public/Business Administration or related discipline
– Extensive knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of general administration
– Excellent project management skills
– Excellent team player; ability to work collaboratively with both teaching and non-teaching colleagues
– A minimum of three (3) Years cognate experience, professional expertise i.e plumber, electrician.
– Must be computer literate
SECURITY OFFICERS:
– Must possess a minimum of WASC/SSCE
– Not more than 35 years
– Appropriate height for a security personnel
– Secures premises and personnel by patrolling, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry
– Maintains safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
– Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.
DRIVERS:
– Must possess a minimum of SSCE/WAEC
– Valid driver’s license
– Clean driving record
– Sound knowledge of road safety regulations
– Working knowledge of local roads and routes
– Effective communication skills
– Punctual and reliable
CLEANERS:
– Must possess a minimum of SSCE/WAEC
– Proven working experience as a Cleaner
– Integrity
