The Governor of Ebonyi State and Chairman South East Governors’Forum, Engineer David Nweze Umahi has congratulated Professor Nnenna Oti on her emergence as the 8th substantive Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO).
In a statement made available to IGBERE TV by Special Assistant on Media, Mr Francis Nwaze, Umahi said Professor Oti, a native of Afikpo North Local Government Area of the State scaled through a thorough screening of 7 candidates listed for the position to emerge.
The statement reads,
“She is a Professor of Soil Science and Environmental Conservation, a three-time Head of Department of Soil Science and Technology in the School of Agricultural and Agriculture Technology (SAAT) and the immediate past chairman, Gender Policy Unit who has spent over 34yrs in academics, teaching research and administration in the Nigerian university system with international exposure.”
“Governor David Nweze Umahi congratulated the University Don on her well-deserved attainment and wished her well in her Service to humanity.”
“He expressed hope that with the Vice Chancellor’s wealth of knowledge in academics spanning over 35 years, she would do Ebonyians proud in her new position.”
