There’s no need, squeezing the knife into the wounds…
The conjecture that the North and the West are on a warm ups, with Interviews, body languages and words lashed out on 2023 general election is presumed to be a signal to stimulate the Southeast on the necessity to step up their politics.
Back rolling the predicaments faced by the Southeast, at the end of the civil war, having the military in power, with strategies employed to put at length the thoughts of Separation, the Ibo’s were weakened and politically sidelined to a safe less formation in the creation of states and regions. that was in the military. 1999 was a rebirth of Nigeria into democracy.
The sequence, with which the PDP planned the zoning and rotation of leadership (Bridged by doctrine of necessity) of our nation Nigeria as of 1999 through their time of governance and their futher quest to continue with government at the center, quashed by the justification of the north to complete their fair turn to exhibit their skills in government was intentional and calculated.
The pressures mounted then by the Northerners for power, to complete their assumed “turn” with the yoruba’s haven had their eight year hold since the embrace of democracy 1999, It would be intimidating to say, the South East, cannot among themselves produce one, that fits into leading the nation.
The Nigeria economy had been a load of struggle to over come by the existed leadership of Nigeria since the inception of democracy.
Going back the memory lane, After the civil war, to further degrade the Igbo race (Biafrans), the compulsory exchange of what ever currency value they had for a mere £20 (pounds) was enough for the Ibo’s not to have the capacity to be, what they intend to become. Moreover, if we looked deeply into the dilemma they found themselves, and how they grew and multiplied, crossing the length and breath of the world in business, innovations and industrialisation, we should be able to deduce, that whatever they passed through was a training process of economy building.
Should we continually cry on our economy while the answer is right before us?
Their line ups are endless…. The calibres of the Chief Whip of the 9th Assembly, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Senator Roachas Okorocha, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, The serving governor of Ebonyi State, H. E. Dave Umahi, H. E. Peter Obi, Dr Ogbonaya Onu, Senator Chris Ngige, Mr Kingsley Chiedu Moghalu and many more are men of national duties, reputable in public and private sectors and available to Nigeria for a reset, rebuild and uphold the economy with skills from the South East region.
Zoning is unconstitutional, but federal character is a tradition and had been represented in the tiers of the Nigeria government. outside the constitution, the moral decent of political parties to harmonize ethnic difference to pilot the leadership services, using their uniqueness to enrich the nation is a worthy action.
There are some facts that are not debatable and the more we tend to neglect the solutions to Nigeria’s draining economy the more sinking our standard of living and developments deepens.
Insubordinate or selfish interest over the unity and progress of Nigeria, drives us into repeated trials of slight significant results. Moreover, the rotation, started by the PDP in solidarity to federal character, inherited by the APC can in a slots, change Nigeria for good.
Power is not given rather, fought for. Moreover, in all solemnity, the 9th Assembly leadership is a most recent instance.
When the stage was up for the leadership of the 9th Senate, with geopolitical zones jostle to clinch the Senate presidency, the understanding among the APC and to avert the drama of the 8th Assembly, in one unison, the submissions to allow Senator Lawan become the Senate President does not make him the best fighter…. Such high level of understanding should be replicated to give Nigeria an economic hope and also keep the APC beyond 2023..
In the likelihood and odds to deny the South East the opportunity to revive our economy, a perfect amalgamation of the Northerners of opposition parties, knowing the usefulness of the South East to our economy could be a staggering push on the APC.
There’s no point wagging over facts that are clear. We as a one united nation should create an enabling atmosphere for political parties to file in candidates from the Southeast to bring on board that economic initiatives that drove their innovative creativeness to multiply that £20 (pounds) to whatever they’ve become today in the globe….
The road to 2023 general elections is long away. Consultations are on the way. Decisions would be made and directions of purpose for our nation Nigeria and the generation to come would be our course.
