COVID-19: Enugu Investigates Jigawa Patient With Alleged Travel History From State

The Enugu State Commissioner for Health, Ik E. Obi, on Tuesday, said that “the report of a confirmed case of #COVIDー19 in Jigawa, with alleged travel history from Enugu State is currently being actively investigated” .

Igbere TV recalls that Jigawa State recorded its first confirmed case of coronavirus last week.

The governor of the state, Muhammad Badaru said the disease was contracted to the state through a resident businessman shuttling between southern Nigeria to Kazaure town in Jigawa.

Meanwhile, Enugu State Commissioner for Health while briefing journalists on Tuesday said investigation is still ongoing.

Igbere TV had reported that Enugu State is now free of COVID-19 after the State Ministry of Health announced that it discharged the second coronavirus patient from treatment and isolation.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control four weeks ago announced two coronavirus index cases in Enugu State.

On Wednesday one of the index cases was discharged after testing negative to the novel coronavirus twice.

The two index cases, a couple, were said to have returned from the United Kingdom.
