The executive council of the Lagos State chapter, Association of Online Media Practitioners of Nigeria (OMPAN), has expressed the Association’s readiness, to work closely with the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), with the intention of moving the movie industry forward.
Speaking during a courtesy visit on the National President of the AGN, Evangelist Emeka Rollas, at Virginrose Resorts, Victoria Island, Lagos, the state chairman of OMPAN, Comrade Iwuchukwu Francis, who led other executive members of the Association, also called for collaboration with the Guild in order to boost the growth of the movie industry.
While expressing satisfaction for the warm reception by the National President, Comrade Francis said, “Owing to the roles played by the industry in shaping the country through its messages to the public, it is therefore important for the media to partner in projecting the importance of the Industry.”
While  commending  the president for his effort towards ensuring that the actors are law abiding through the efforts of the Guild, Comrade Francis however promised that OMPAN would play its roles effectively.
Responding, the AGN President expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Association for its visit.
Rollas however expressed sadness over the challenges of the Guild in the time past, which he said was lack of funds and lack of media partnership in projecting its image.
The AGN President opined that his administration is striving harder to position the Guild in its normal position.
Rollas said, “I will not relent effort in boosting the growth of the Guild through the giant stride of the media.
“We lack funds to build up the Guild. Most of the funds we used in funding are from my account, because I don’t want the Guild to experience downfall under my Administration.
“That Is the reason I want to carry everybody along in order to join hands and move the Industry forward.
“I am therefore appealing to the press to partner with us in making the public to know the roles in which the Industry has played in shaping this country.”
