Tekno Released On Health Grounds over Half-Na@ked Girls on Lagos Road

Pop singer, Tekno, has been granted administrative bail on health grounds after his arrest on Tuesday by the police in Lagos.

The musician was subjected to hours of questioning at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) Panti, Yaba for his involvement in the recent display of strippers in a truck on Lagos road.

The truck was stuck in the traffic last Friday around the Lekki/Ikoyi tollgate in Lagos with semi-nude ladies dancing seductively.

Videos of the incident showing five oiled girls in lingerie dancing around a pole with Tekno throwing foreign currency at them and smacking their butts immediately went viral on social media.

The singer had on Sunday apologised for the act, saying it was a music video shoot which was not intended to breach public decency.

However, the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency suspended the licence of the advertising firm, Pro-Vision Media Systems Limited, that owns the van for promoting indecency.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) SCIID, Yetunde Longe, said investigation was ongoing on the matter, adding that Tekno was granted bail because of his health.

“Yes, we invited him for questioning but we did not detain him because of his health. He was advised to report to the police whenever he was needed. Investigation is still ongoing,” she said.
