JUST IN!!! Politicians Feed On Hate To Stifle Reconciliation — VP Osinbajo Says

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has taken a swipe at politicians, saying they feed on hate to stifle reconciliation, Igbere TV reports.

Igbere TV reports that Prof. Osinbajo said this on Monday at the 80th birthday ceremony of former governor of Ogun State, Olusegun Osoba, and the launch of his autobiography titled “Battle Lines: Adventures in Journalism and Politics”.

“The attempt by political elite to always use religious and ethnic divisiveness is dangerous,” Osinbajo said, “they make reconciliation quite difficult because they feed on hate.”

The Vice President added that the “challenge before us now as a country is to be able to recognise evil and wickedness. This we can defeat with unity of purpose.”

National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, who was at the ceremony, said it had become expedient for Nigerians and members of the political class to find common ground.

He said the choice of broom as the symbol of APC was in recognition of the need to have unity in diversity.

Former Head of State, Abdusalami Abubakar, who was chairman of the occasion, urged Nigerians to come together to confront security challenges and other issues affecting the country.

A former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babagana Kingibe, said no section of the country was useless and that all must work together especially in building trust.
