Pastor Omodele Fatoyinbo, wife of the Senior Pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly in Guzape, Abuja, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, has defended her husband, saying he is not a rapist.
Omodele stood by her husband while addressing the church on Sunday after Biodun came under criticism over the weekend following rape allegations.
Busola Dakolo, wife of singer and songwriter, Timi Dakolo, had on Friday accused Fatoyinbo of raping her about 20 years ago.
“My husband is not a rapist. Even if he was not a believer, he would not be a rapist,” she said.
Before she could complete her speech, her husband quickly grabbed the microphone and added “the elders are handling the matter.”
Fatoyinbo skipped the sermon on Sunday and dismissed the service before 11 am.
It was gathered that the church’s service usually ends at noon.
The rape allegation caused a storm over the weekend with many calling for the pastor’s arrest and others showing their support for the preacher.
Fatoyinbo said he had never raped anyone not even as an unbeliever.
