The Social Democratic Party’s gubernatorial candidate in the March 9 governorship election in Abia State, Mrs Blessing Nwagba, has denied the alleged endorsement of the incumbent governor and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Okezie Ikpeazu, Igbere TV reports.
In a statement signed by a media aide to the governorship candidate, Roland Alozie, and made available to Igbere TV, he said that those behind the endorsement are neither party chairmen, nor do they enjoy the support of the party’s leadership.
Alozie added that at best, the governor must have been defrauded by people he termed “fraudsters”, while insisting that Mrs Nwagba is still in the race as SDP’s guber candidate.

The purported adoption of Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu Ph.D, the candidate for the PDP for the March 9th election by some SDP party chairmen led by Chief Chijioke Ozems, the party chairman for Isiala Ngwa North is neither the position of Hon Dr Blessing Nwagba, the Governorship candidate of Social Democratic Party nor that of the Party’s State Exco as led by Hon Chidi Nwosu.
It is highly imperative to point out that some of the persons whose faces appeared on the circulated video are neither party chairmen nor represent the party in any capacity, as widely speculated.
The Governor should know the calibre and character of persons he is dealing with. In a situation where there will be any alliance of any sort with any party or candidate, it is specifically justifiable that such action could only be led by the Governorship candidate of the party, who is directly involved. The candidate for Accord Party who collapsed his structure and aligned with APGA, did not delegate the task to anyone.
In the light of the above, it is pertinent to note that the Total Blessing Foundation structure is the one carrying the party, and any adoption of any kind from self acclaimed LGA chairmen should be seen as a FRAUD, and the perpetrators of such act treated as fraudsters.
To crown it up, Hon Dame Blessing Nwagba Ph.D is strongly in the race, and has neither adopted any candidate nor aligned with any other party.
