BREAKING!!! Uyo 'Shutdown' as A'Ibom Women Protest, Demand Sack of Police Boss, City 'Painted' Black (Photos)

Following the ugly incident yesterday at the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, where five former members, backed by thugs and personel of the Nigeria police invaded the hallowed chambers and attempted to take over control of the Assembly, Akwa Ibom Women across the 31 Local Government Areas of the State, are currently protesting, demanding the immediate sack of the newly appointed police commissioner.

Igbere Tv correspondent in Uyo reports that the women, clad in Black and led by the Hon. Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Dr. Glory Edet, are on a PEACEFUL PROTEST, bearing placards with inscriptions such as MUSA MUST GO; WE NEED PEACE IN AKS ; LUKE IS THE AUTHENTIC SPEAKER!

They are protesting Police partisanship in the state, calling for redeployment of the newly posted State Police Commissioner, Musa Kimo.
