"A'Ibom Assembly Siege Reprehensible, Threat to Democracy" - ex VP 'Bombs' Buhari

Following the tensed drama that played out today at the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, the former Vice President and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential flag bearer for 2019 election in Nigeria,  Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the attempted “coup” and Siege of the state Assembly by the Nigeria Police.

Igbere Tv reports that Atiku took to his twitter account to condemn the act and called on President Muhammadu Buhari to act fast to save Nigeria’s Democracy.

The ongoing siege of Akwa Ibom House of Assembly is reprehensible & stands condemned. Such action is a threat to democratic institutions & portends grave danger to our democracy. The FG should direct security agencies to rein in these anti-democratic elements & restore peace.
