It was laughter galore in Nkpa and Uzuakoli as philanthropist and founder, Benjamin Kalu foundation, Barr Benjamin Kalu arrived the sleepy towns with truck load of goodies.
IGBERE TV correspondent reports that Over 500 people in Bende federal constituency benefitted from give away as Kalu clothed the women and people with disabilities, while the children were provided with educational materials.
This was as the philanthropist took his ward tour train to Nkpa & Uzuakoli wards as part of his sensitization campaign round the federal constituency.
The women and children who gathered in large numbers in the wards visited to welcome Kalu and his train, expressed their joy as they prayed for him and declared their unalloyed support for his aspiration to the House of Representatives.
Speaking with IGBERE TV after the day’s tour, Kalu noted that his gesture “is his lifestyle” stressing that he derives satisfaction from “putting smiles on the faces of people”
He also stated that he didn’t embark on the tour because he is seeking election into the national assembly, but that “Passion, Empathy are the drivers of my ambition”
High point of the event was when an 85 year old Chief Ogu in Uzuakoli ward publicly declared his love and support for Benjamin Kalu, promising to keep working as his volunteer coordinator in the unit and prayed for his success in the forthcoming elections.
