Hundreds of party supporters in Kwara state trooped out on Tuesday to celebrate the defection of the Senate President Bukola Saraki and the Kwara state Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed to the Peoples Democratic Party.

Although the members are yet to be officially briefed as the senate president is still holding meetings behind closed doors with political office holders, the news filtered out and they danced and burnt the broom to show their defection from the party.
Around five o ‘clock on Tuesday evening , the senate president arrived his private residence in Ilorin to hold a meeting with the state governor, members of national and state assembly, commissioners and ten representatives from each of the sixteen local governments in the state.
Immediately the senate president arrived, journalists were asked to leave the venue for a closed door meeting which lasted for several hours.
With the defection of the senate president and the state governor to the Peoples Democratic Party, all is now set for the party to slug it out with APC in Kwara in the 2019 general election.
