Fifteen(15) APC senators have defected to the opposition party PDP.
This was announced by the Senate president, Bukola Saraki on the floor of the Senate today. Apparently, the Senate President was initially blocked by the police from entering into the plenary session, before sneaking into the building using a dilapidated vehicle. With the rise in the number of new senators in the PDP, the party now holds the majority of seats in the upper legislative chamber.
This begs to wonder what will become of the APC within the next few months leading up to the 2019 elections, having a faction of its party deflected to form the R-APC and now 15 senators fleeing to the PDP. Here are the names of the 15 senators who fled to the PDP:
Rafiu Ibrahim(kwara)
Ibrahim Dambara (Sokoto)
