Yesterday was a sad day for the Nigerian community in Spain when the news of the death of eight Spain based Nigerians who are alleged to be Edo indigenes filtered in. They died in an accident which occurred around 8:30am at the Wictech stretch of the Lagos – Ibadan expressway about two km away from Danco filling station.

They flew into the country from Spain, yesterday morning, had chartered the Iyare hiace bus with vehicle number BEN 313 YX.
Reports coming from one of the deceased close friend in Madrid says that about €500,000(N210million) is inside the bus that had accident. The victims are business men and women whose business is local foreign exchange( euro to naira) “They collect euro from you in Spain then give you the equivalent in naira” When they have enough euros, they travel down to Nigeria.
Most Nigerians in Europe and America don’t use the conventional means of sending money home like Western Union and Moneygram they rather patronize their fellow compatriots who does same thing with a better exchange rate.
