A chieftain of APGA and a gubernatorial aspirant in Abia state Sir Chikwe Udensi has felicitated with Nigerian workers in this year’s celebration of workers day, describing them as worthy partners in nation building whose contributions must not be undermined.
He stated this in a statement made available to IGBERE TV on Tuesday. The Arochukwu born politician also calls on government at all levels to do more to alleviate the sufferings of Nigerian workers.
“As Nigerian workers join their counterparts worldwide to celebrate 2018 May day, it is imperative to take into account the role they play in building our nation. Workers are no doubt worthy partners in our journey to promised land whose contributions must not be undermined.
“It is unfortunate that little or nothing significant is being done to carter for our workers for optimum performance as obtainable elsewhere. The government at all levels should show enough seriousness to make our workers feel appreciated for their inputs” he cautioned.
He also promised to treat workers welfare with vigour if elected Abia governor. “When my party APGA takes over power in Abia state come 2019, workers will smile. We will not owe them. They will be paid as at when due. I will ensure that their pensions and entitlements are cardinal in our agenda”.
The international security consultant also wished Nigerians, particularly Abians a happy new month, urging them to give him their support to enthrone what he called a people oriented government come 2019.
