Is Nigeria’s Social Media community elitist and out of touch with reality?
The response to the publication of pictures from the agricultural support program of Honorable Mandela appears to say yes to my question.
First let me make these disclosures; Hon Mandela Obasi is my representative at the Abia State House of Assembly and we grew up knowing each other. He is a successful International business man and owns the popular Evergreen Hotel chain in Abia State.
In my place, where Mandela executed the agricultural support initiative by providing hoes and machetes to farmers, our people who received those items, fertilizers and cash from Mandela are very happy.
Why?
Our farmers are mostly subsistence farmers who will certainly need those items as they prepare to commence 2018 farming season. They need the machete to clear their portion of mostly allocated community farmlands and the hoe to dig yam and cassava mounds on our mostly strong soil.
While there are elites engaged in mechanized farming in my constituency, the greater majority still practice subsistence agriculture to grow enough food to feed themselves and their entire families.
Mandela has greatly supported the farmers of Abiriba and contrary to what you are ignorantly posting at social Media he will be rewarded by the real voters of my community. Those men and women NEVER forget gestur
