We Didn't Send Ojukwu to Daura, Any Agreement With Him is Personal - Chidi Mokeme Bombs Buhari

Nollywood actor, Director and Filmmaker, Chidi Mokeme have weighed into the President Muhammadu Buhari’s national broadcast.

Recall that Buhari had in his national broadcast said the unity of Nigeria is non-negotiable, thereby cautioned those agitating for a Biafran republic to stop.

The president who recently came back from medical vacation added in his broadcast that he had an agreement with the late Biafran General, Chukwuemeka Ojukwu that Nigeria will remain as one.

Buhari said; In 2003 after I joined partisan politics, the late Chief Emeka Ojukwu came and stayed as my guest in my hometown Daura. Over two days we discussed in great depth till late into the night and analyzed the problems of Nigeria. We both came to the conclusion that the country must remain one and united.

Reacting over President Buhari’s broadcast, the filmmaker said, whatsoever agreement the president had with Ojukwu is personal, and since the agreement does not set out in the ABURI ACCORD, that it means nothing.

Mokeme stated this through a social media post.

According to him; Any agreement with Ojukwu that does not mirror the AGREEMENTS set out in the ABURI ACCORD is NO AGREEMENT. Ojukwu had the full support and mandate of the people when he journeyed to ABURI. Any subsequent journey by him to Daura, real or imagined, is a case of “On Your Own” #OYO.

We did not send him to Daura and hence got no feedback from him, neither did we expect any, and Ojukwu is not here to answer for himself. Any GENUINE agreements with Ojukwu would have led to immediate efforts at RECONCILIATION, REHABILITATION, and RECONSTRUCTION. Ojukwu would NEVER have supported the 95% and 5% equation.

Instead of drawing RED LINES, we should be putting up white flags along the path to DIALOGUE, REFERENDUM, and RESTRUCTURING. The only agreements that would hold water in this present day, are the agreements reached by the elders when they fought for independence. That agreement was mirrored in Aburi. ON ABURI WE STAND!

My name is Chidi Mokeme and since common sense is no longer common, I’m just trying to make #ChidiSense#IgboBoy #Igbobuike #NwaBiafra#MakaOganiruNdiIgbo #OganiruNigeria #NigerianFromBiafra Gwazie ndi yardi unu o
