Many PDP politicians saw the huge followership Kanu had and thought they had seen an opportunity to advance their political careers using him but have been badly disappointed by Kanu who stood his ground and continued his demand for Biafra. On the list are :
Osita Chidoka: Drove Kanu to the airport after his bail. He is a candidate in the upcoming Anambra gubernatorial elections. He has been badly disappointed by Nnamdi Kanu’s stance of no election on that day.
Femi Fani Kayode Met Nnamdi Kanu in prison, appeared in court to support Nnamdi Kanu, hosted Nk in his home
shortly after the former left prison. He was disappointed by Nnamdi Kanu’s decision to openly criticise his master GEJ.
Reno Omokri Supported Nnamdi Kanu via Twitter. He was burned by Nnamdi Kanu’s decision to openly criticise his master GEJ.
Deji Adeyanju Organised protests in support of Nnamdi Kanu’s release and also expressed solidarity via Twitter. As a politician, he is disappointed by Nnamdi Kanu ‘s no election order in Anambra.
Fayose: Supported Nnamdi Kanu via press releases and appearance in court mainly because they share a mutual hatred for the devil called Buhari. I am sure he too will be disappointed by NK’s no election stance as no politician currently benefiting from Nigeria or intending to do so will support it.
While it is a good thing that these politicians saw that Nnamdi Kanu was being persecuted by Buhari’s wicked government and jumped to his support, it is worth noting that Nnamdi Kanu never asked for it. They all knew what Nnamdi Kanu stood for before supporting him, So it is wrong for them to use their support for him to blackmail him into changing his stance and belief. Nnamdi Kanu had been a staunch critic of GEJ even before the 2015 election, it didn’t start today. His stance against Nigerian
Elections didn’t start today either, he instructed his followers on radio then in 2015 not to bother participating in the “zoo” elections then but to be focused on the struggle for Biafra’s actualization and the few (compared to what it is now) followers then obliged and didn’t comemoutmto vote.
There is nothing he is saying now, that he hasn’t said before his incarceration so these politicians should stop acting surprised.
Nnamdi Kanu remains who he is.
