Locals Residents Troop Out to Butcher a Stranded Whale in Akassa, Brass LGA of Bayelsa State (Photos)

A Facebook user identified as Sam Patrick Dogitimi, has taken to the social networking platform to post some photos and the story of how a big whale was caught in popular Senator, Ben Bruce’s home town Akassa, in Brass LGA of Bayelsa State.

Sam captioned the photos; “The whale crash landed in Akassa, Brass LGA, Bayelsa State and became delicious for her people. #MannaInAkassa.”

According to findings, the whale is a small whale and was trapped in the waters of Fish town of Akassa, in Bayelsa state. There is a myth amongst the people of Akassa that once a whale thinks bad of harming humans the whales die. Fishermen in Akassa normally encounter whales in the sea without being harmed.

The general belief among the residents is that the whale is believed to have thought of harming them, hence its being stranded in the shallow waters of Fish town.

The whale was butchered by residents of Fish town and environs as they obviously had a food-filled weekend.
