French Nationals in Paris have Lampooned their Ambassador to Nigeria for saying “Biafra has no future”. All the people interviewed by our correspondent (Adalene, Nanette, Tearlach and Xavierre etc) insist that French people are strongly in support of self determination not only for Biafrans but all humanity.
“France is a product of a revolution and we will always support every genuine agitation for self determination” Adalene said.
France’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Denys Gauer, told newsmen that his country would not in anyway work with any group agitating for the dismemberment of the nation.
Speaking against the backdrop of France’s previous support for Biafra during Nigeria’s civil war, Gauer pointed out that Nigeria has evolved since the civil war. France has been cooperating with the country to overcome its challenges, especially the fight against insurgency.
But in reaction, MASSOB said the opinion of Gauer does not represent that of France and as such, would not be taken as truth.
