HAPPENING NOW!!! Nnamdi Kanu’s Counsel Boxes FG’s Lawyer Into a Corner Over Kanu’s Bail
KANU’S COURT UPDATE: BARRISTER EJIOFOR ADDRESSING THE COURT AND URGING JUSTICE BINTA TO GRANT KANU BAIL.
At exactly 11: 47am the ourt clerk called up Kanu’s case file with the other 3 defendants.
The introduction of the Prosecution counsel SN Labaran and that of the defense counsels led by Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, was observed.
Making his submissions, Barrister Ejiofor stated that following an application dated 2nd day of February, 2017, the application praying for the sustainment of the charges bordering on importation of goods should be quashed, and that his client had hitherto been discharged by Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court.
He told the court that Nnamdi Kanu has been attacked on 5 several occasions in his cell room at Kuje Prison.
He prayed the court to grant the first defendant bail.
He told the court that he’s relying on all the argument on the filed application dated 15th day of March, 2017 to ask the court to dismiss the charges against his client.
He maintained that the poor evidence relied upon by the Prosecution lawyer is not competent enough to deny the defendant bail.
He said that Nnamdi Kanu is a man of international repute and that he’s ready to stand for trial whenever called up as he can’t desecrate the orders of the court.
On that note, he prayed the court to grant him bail so that he continues standing for trial from home.
