The accident said to have happened in the early hours of Wednesday this week, involved one Hummer bus and a truck.
The incident allegedly took place in Otte area, along Ilorin-Ogbomoso expressway.
Eyewitness account said the bus driver was allegedly over-speeding when he rammed into the stationary truck and killed all the passengers on the bus.
The bus was said to have been coming from Kaduna, Kaduna state.
It was gathered later in the night that irate members of the community went on rampage protesting against the death of the passengers.
The protesters had mobilised to set the truck ablaze but for the prompt intervention of some men of the state police command.
The state police Commissioner Olusola Amore yesterday confirmed the incident, saying that “a bus load of passengers coming from Kaduna ran into a stationary vehicle and all the passengers died.
“In fact, for now, the trailer has been impounded and we are working with the WAto be able to tow the trailer. The trailer is even loaded with goods.
“So that we can get the driver and the owner of the trailer to come and answer for the way the trailer was parked before it caused the accident.”
