15-Year-Old Ghanaian Boy Shot Dead On Way To School In New York

A 15-year-old Ghanaian boy, identified as Javits Frimpong, has died after being shot while reportedly on his way to school in the Bronx, New York.

The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 29, near Crotona Park. According to police, the teenager was shot in the stomach but managed to run approximately one block before collapsing.

He was subsequently rushed to a hospital, where he later died.

Javits’ father, Thomas Frimpong, believes the incident may be connected to bullying his son had reportedly experienced at school.

Speaking to ABC7 New York, the grieving father disclosed that the school’s principal had informed him three days before the shooting that two students had been suspended over bullying allegations.

He described his son as a quiet, intelligent and precious child who rarely spent time outside their home.

Police are searching for three teenage suspects who reportedly fled the scene wearing black clothing and blue surgical masks. No arrests have been announced.

However, authorities have not established whether the shooting was connected to the reported bullying.
