Over 200 Users Of Prep50 Scored 300 And Above In 2026 JAMB β€” Report

An examination preparation platform, Prep50, has reported that over 200 candidates who used its learning resources scored 300 and above in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), testifying of the role of structured past-question practice, mock examinations and effective time management in preparing for the examination.

The platform, which offers topic-arranged past-question books, a mobile application, online tutorials, computer-based test (CBT) practice and tutorials, was developed to help candidates prepare more systematically for UTME examinations conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), and other similar examinations, such as WAEC, NECO and post-UTME.

The platform’s approach centres on organising past questions by topic, helping students identify weak areas and familiarising them with the CBT format before the actual examination.

According to information gathered from survey, its candidate database and personal confirmation, the platform said no fewer than 200 persons out of the results they have seen so far from candidates who used the app scored from 300 above, while majority of them scored 250 and above. The platform, however, said only about 79 of the 300+ results have been confirmed either personally by the candidates or through their schools.

Given that some secondary schools helped facilitate and coordinate some of their alumni who were UTME candidates that used prep50, some of the results of 300+ were also gathered from the schools as follows: APT Scholars (32), Tansi college (4), Mater Amabilis (4), Urban Secondary School (1), Prime school (1), EFVP Wisdom School (1), Eminence School (3), Intellect Schools (4), St. Michael School (1), Holy Cross (1). Besides these, some candidates personally confirmed theirs by themselves.

Even highest JAMB scorer in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), Owoeye Daniella, who scored 372 out of 400, has personally confirmed she used the Prep50 platform to prepare for the examination, which helped her to emerge as the overall highest-scoring candidate in 2026.

Other candidates who responded to Prep50’s survey identified its structured past questions as a major part of their preparation and major contributor to their success in the exam.

Other factors they cited included taking mock examinations consistently, using the skip-and-return method when faced with difficult questions, consulting supplementary study materials and deliberately limiting distractions from games and social media.

An analysis of the 2026 UTME results released so far put the number of candidates who scored 300 and above at 12,414 out of 1,897,692 results, representing approximately 0.65 per cent. The same analysis put the number scoring 200 and above at 420,415, or about 22.15 per cent.

Reacting to the reported performance, the founder of Prep50, Emeka Ejeziem, expressed delight at the results recorded by candidates who used the platform, describing the performances as encouraging and a motivation to continue improving access to effective and affordable examination preparation resources.

Ejeziem, an edtech entrepreneur, attributed the achievements to consistent practice, proper use of past questions and the willingness of candidates to learn from their mistakes, while encouraging students preparing for future UTME, WAEC, NECO and post-UTME examinations to embrace Prep50 as part of their preparation, practise regularly with its resources, take mock examinations seriously and remain disciplined in their studies.

He further advised that success in examinations requires commitment and hard work, urging candidates not to wait until the examination is near before starting their preparations.
