Moses Theophilus Kenibara Dies After Failed Liposuction Surgery

The Amadabo of Moko-Ama in Sangana, Akassa Kingdom, Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Royal Highness Moses Theophilus Kenibara VII, has reportedly died following complications from a liposuction surgery.

Tributes circulating on social media around October 8 and 9, 2026, describing the monarch as a peacemaker and advocate of unity and development in the Niger Delta, have continued to pour in.

The late king was 64 when he died.

The monarch who served as Chairman of the Akassa Clan Council of Chiefs and Chairman of the Central Zone of the Ijaw National Congress (INC) was crowned Amadabo of Moko-Ama in 2016, a position he described as a divine calling.

He later emerged as Chairman of the Akassa Clan Council of Chiefs, succeeding Chief Newton Igbani-Okuru. In that role, he advocated unity among royal houses and supported efforts to establish a written constitution for the council.

His reported death has been described as a significant loss to Moko-Ama, with tributes describing him as a dedicated traditional ruler who worked for his people’s welfare and promoted peace and development across the Niger Delta.
