Nigeria’s Falconets are preparing for another FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup campaign in Poland, where they will once again attempt to make history by winning their first world title.
The 2026 tournament will mark Nigeria’s 12th consecutive appearance at the competition since their debut in 2002. The Falconets remain the only African team to have featured at every edition.
Nigeria have twice reached the final, finishing runners-up in 2010 and 2014, while they also finished fourth in 2012. Their most recent campaign in 2024 ended in the Round of 16.
The Falconets secured their place at Poland 2026 after defeating Malawi 3-2 on aggregate in the final African qualifying round.
With a proud history and another talented squad, Nigeria will be hoping this is finally the year the Falconets go all the way and become the first African nation to win the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
