NFF Interim Presidency Race Heats Up: Soname, Pinnick And Odegbami In Contention

The race for the NFF interim presidency is gathering momentum following the resignation of Ibrahim Gusau, with Kunle Soname, Amaju Pinnick and Segun Odegbami reportedly among the names being considered.

Reports suggest the National Sports Commission (NSC) is particularly considering Kunle Soname, the Remo Stars owner, to oversee the transition. Former NFF president Amaju Pinnick and ex-Super Eagles captain Segun Odegbami have also emerged as possible options.

However, no interim appointment has been formally confirmed by the NFF. The next leadership will inherit a federation facing major challenges following Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the Super Falcons’ absence from the 2027 Women’s World Cup.

Who should lead the NFF during the transition — Soname, Pinnick or Odegbami?
