The Labour Party candidate for Aba North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Alex Ikwechegh (Onyeocha N’Aba), has extended a congratulatory message to Hon. Uzor Azubuike following his emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the same constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Azubuike secured the APC ticket during the party’s House of Representatives primary elections conducted across the eight federal constituencies in Abia State on Saturday, May 16, 2026 .
Chairman of the Abia State National Assembly Primary Election Committee, Barrister Erasmus Cishak, announced the results at the APC State Secretariat in Umuahia, describing the exercise as peaceful, transparent, and credible .
Ikwechegh, who currently occupies the seat under the Labour Party platform, congratulated Azubuike in a telephone call and wished him well in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections.
The Aba North and South Federal Constituency is expected to witness a competitive contest, with Ikwechegh of Labour Party as the front runner against Azubuike flying the APC flag and other candidates.
