Seyi Law Introducing Tinubu At APC Convention

Popular Nigerian stand-up comedian, Seyi Law, has publicly reaffirmed his strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, declaring that he is “willing to stake everything on him.”

Seyi Law made the statement on Friday while speaking at the All Progressives Congress (APC) convention held in Abuja, where party stakeholders gathered ahead of key political activities.

Addressing the audience, the comedian said his unwavering loyalty to President Tinubu is rooted in his belief that the administration rescued Nigeria from the brink of economic collapse.

According to him, Nigeria’s financial standing has improved significantly since Tinubu assumed office, particularly in terms of foreign reserves.

“And I said to myself, if I was to introduce Mr President, how would I do it? And I just said I will let people know that this is a man that I am willing to stake everything for,” Seyi Law said.

He added that Nigeria’s national reserve, which he claimed was at “barely $1 billion” before Tinubu took office, has grown substantially.

“Today we celebrate our national reserve that is about $40 billion and our gross reserve that is at about $50.7 billion,” he stated.

The comedian’s comments have further reinforced his political stance, having openly endorsed Tinubu during the 2023 general elections.

Seyi Law has, however, remained a controversial figure in Nigeria’s political discourse, particularly among critics of the current administration. He recently faced backlash on social media after asserting that Nigeria is “currently safer under the Tinubu administration than it was a decade ago.”

His latest remarks at the APC convention are expected to spark renewed debate, especially as discussions around Nigeria’s economic performance and security situation continue to dominate public discourse.
