Activists from #BringBackOurGirls movement have written an open letter to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In their letter, the signatories from Nigeria, the US, New Zealand and Italy, say the two recent kidnappings of students underscore “terrifying trend of lawlessness and vulnerability” in Nigerian schools.
They add that although fifty students have escaped, hundreds are still in captivity and families are living in anguish.
The group decries the closure of schools in what it describes as Nigeria’s most educationally challenged region.
It says that these incidents are “not isolated tragedies – they are part of a systemic failure spanning over 11 years. Since the Chibok abduction of 276 girls in April 2014, Nigeria has witnessed at least 1,800 students kidnapped in a relentless cycle of terror”.
