Over 500 Unknown Gunmen Reportedly Surrender in Orsu, Imo State

Over 500 individuals previously identified as “unknown gunmen” in Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State have reportedly surrendered their arms to state authorities. This action follows their acceptance of an amnesty offer extended by the Imo State Government.

According to reports, the state government has now issued a plea to others believed to still be operating from remote bush areas. Officials are urging these individuals to emerge, hand over their weapons, and accept the offered amnesty and rehabilitation program.

The Imo State Government stated this mass surrender is a key element of its strategy to restore peace in the region. The initiative aims to reintegrate repentant fighters back into society. Those who surrendered are expected to undergo a rehabilitation process before their planned reintegration into the community.
