Why Are Southeast Govs Afraid Of Demanding Nnamdi Kanu’s Release? – Brother Blows Hot

Emmanuel Kanu, has questioned the Southeast governors’ reluctance to demand the release of his brother, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

Speaking on television, Emmanuel said the invasion of his family home by the military in 2017 led to the death of his parents, Eze Israel Kanu and Ugoeze Kanu.

According to him, governors of the Southeast region have not made any effort in seeking the release of the IPOB leader by President Bola Tinubu.

Comparing his brother’s ordeal with that of a Yoruba agitator, Sunday Ighoho, Emmanuel said Igbo leaders have not shown enough committment in demanding his brothers release like the Yoruba leader did.

He, however commended the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu for appealing to President Tinubu to release Kanu from detention.

“The South East Governors are yet to meet Mr President as a body. What are they afraid of?

“Let them go and meet Mr President and demand for the release of Nnamdi Kanu”, Emmanuel said.
