A land dispute in Osun State has led to four persons feared dead with no fewer than seven police officers injured.
It was gathered that the crisis is between Esa Oke and Ido Ijesha, two communities in Osun State.
Videos showed some residents running helter-skelter in apparent move to seek safety.
Confirming the development on the conflict, the Police Public Relations Officer in Osun State, Opalola Yemisi, stated that seven police officers were injured in the process.
“Seven Police Officers were injured in the process,they had gone to maintain peace in the area when they were ambushed by thugs”.
The Public Relations Officer further told SaharaReporters that the affected officers had been treated at the hospital.
The Police Spokesperson however stated that two of the thugs were arrested in the process.
“We are still in search of the other persons who carried out the attack and they will be charged appropriately”.
It was however denied that anyone died from the incident.
“No one died asides from the injured policemen,” the police spokesperson told newsmen.
