Man Dies During Fortification Ritual At Native Doctor’s Shrine In Enugu

A Young Man Identified As Chikwado Eze, from Ugbaike in Enugu Ezike, Enugu State, has reportedly lost his life during a controversial fortification ritual at a native doctor’s shrine. The tragic incident has sparked outrage and raised questions about the dangers of extreme traditional practices.

According To Eyewitnesses, Chikwado had returned to his village to inform his father that his visa had expired. Seeking to ensure his son’s success abroad, Chikwado’s father suggested consulting a native doctor for spiritual fortification.

The Native Doctor, Identified As Onuwa, instructed that Chikwado be buried alive for one hour and thirty minutes to undergo the fortification ritual. Tragically, when Chikwado was exhumed, he was found dead.

Enugu State Police Command has arrested Chikwado’s father, Uwakwe Eze, and the native doctor, Onuwa, in connection with the incident.

“The Command is investigating the circumstances surrounding Chikwado’s death and will ensure that justice is served,” said a police spokesperson.
