A New Dawn Is Here in Abia State By Ukoha Njoku Ukoha

By: Ukoha Njoku Ukoha

Governor Alex Otti is intentional and deliberate about access to quality Healthcare delivery in the State. On assumption of office, the Governor prioritized the Upgrading and Reaccreditation of Abia State University Teaching Hospital (ABSUTH) which was deaccredited during the last administration.

The Governor Rehabilitated, Reconstructed and Constructed all access Roads, Streets and Points leading and connecting to the Teaching Hospital. The interconnectivity of Roads and Access Points are good sight to behold and make accessibility to ABSUTH Seamless. The following interventions can best be described as ABSUTH Access Ecosystem: University Road, College Road, Green Avenue, Shalom Road, Umuodu Road, Umuimo Road, Udeagbala Road created access to the Teaching Hospital from Afule Market, MCC Junction, Osisioma Flyover, and Udeagbala Bypass. Healthcare Professionals and Support Staff working in ABSUTH are sure of their Salaries before the end of every Month and the Hospital is currently hiring more hands. The over 2 years arrears of salaries left by the immediate past administration is being defrayed by Governor Otti.

ALL THE ABOVE IS OPEN FOR VERIFICATION AND A CONFIRMATION VISIT IS ADVISED.

The Strategic Ohanku Road, Port-Harcourt Road, Omuma Road, Ekeakpara-Osisioma Road, Obiohia Road are currently undergoing Reconstruction in Aba. Tens of Roads have been rehabilitated and many more are undergoing rehabilitation. There is zero tolerance for Potholes to ease movement around the City. Roundabouts with water fountain have been upgraded and Traffic Lights are currently being installed at major junctions and interchange in Aba and Umuahia.

Umuahia is not left out. The expansion of Ossah Road (now Aguiyi Ironsi Boulevard) has been completed and commissioned. The construction of a Central Transportation Terminal is ongoing in Umuahia. The city is being transformed to wear the look of a modern capital city. Abia Specialist Hospital and Diagnostic Center has been upgraded for quality service delivery.

There is ongoing Reconstruction of Umuahia to Arochukwu Highway to reconnect the hitherto cut-off and abandoned Abia North Zone back to the State. Isiukwuato and Umunneochi LGAS are not left out as strategic Roads have either been procured, awarded or under reconstruction.

The Reconstruction and Dualization of Onu-Imo to Abia Tower has been awarded and will be flagged-off soon. The Reconstruction and Dualization of Imo-River, Owerrinta Road to Umuekaa Junction has been awarded and will be flagged-off soon.

The Reconstruction of Umuoba, Isialangwa South to Obingwa Road was flagged-off less than 2 weeks ago under the RAAMP project and more of the Rural Roads Project are on the pipeline.

The newly commissioned Ugwunagbo SDG Multipurpose Hospital will soon be energised with 100KvA solar system. Over 5000 solar streetlights has been installed around the State for environmental security and beautification and more is coming.

Ukwa is not left out. The Road leading to Rossettes Vehicle Assembly Plant has been earmarked for Construction and Dualization including the Owaza Road where Abia Industrial Innovative Park is located will be Dualized as part of Abia State Government obligations in the Project. Governor is just starting.

A New Dawn is Here.
