Court Did Not Void Edo PDP Guber Primary: See Certified True Copy Of Judgement

Barely 24 hours after news broke that a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has nullified the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) Governorship primaries in Edo State which produced Dr. Asue Ighodalo as Candidate, we have exclusively obtained Certified True Copies(CTC) of the Judgement delivered by Justice Inyang Ekwo in the case marked FHC/ABJ/CS/165/2024 which shows that the Court did not make any orders or declaration nullifying the said Primary Election.

In the 37 page CTC document which has the full Judgement, there is nothing to show that the court issued an Order invalidating the February 22nd primaries in Edo State nor a Mandatory injunction restraining PDP from fielding Dr. Asue Ighodalo as it’s Governorship Candidate in the forthcoming September 21st Guber Election in the State.

In the absence of such orders, the court cannot be deemed to have nullified or invalidated the Edo primaries as erroneously portrayed by some sections of the media.

The Campaign organization of Edo Governorship Candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo (TAMO) yesterday released a press Statement clarifying that Asue Ighodalo, who emerged victorious as the party’s candidate from the exercise has not been disqualified. They blamed counsel to the Plaintiffs for all the misinformation surrounding the Court ruling.

“The counsel to the plaintiffs, Adaze Emwanta, who left the court room yesterday while the ruling was still on to address the press, claiming that the honourable court had disqualified Ighodalo and annulled the primary election, completely misled an entire nation and all media houses, both electronic and print, an act which has been described by sundry legal practitioners as reckless and reprehensible professional conduct” The statement reads

They further called on all political parties to eschew propaganda and peddling lies and concentrate on selling their candidates and what he has to offer Edo people.
