Onye Njem: My Road Trip To Abuja (Photos)

3a.m sharp, we woke up to take our bath and dress up for the journey. It was 4:27 a.m we Left Iperu in Ogun state. That was when my road trip to Abuja started.

We passed 5 states before getting to Abuja including Ogun state. Moving in each state, that was when I understood that nature is beautiful. Do you know at that every each state we enter becomes hotter 🤣🤣🤣 from Ogun state I was feeling the weather to be cold not until we enter the second state, then the 3rd, 4th and 5th then I discover the breeze becomes hot. I pity those whose cars do not have Air conditioners.

Some of the federal roads within the state leading to Abuja were not good at all. I was now wondering if it started raining, How will the drivers or the company of those vehicles cope. Not just that, I discovered that each state has different fuel prices. although we bought fuel 3 times on this journey. First was at ibadan Which they sold for 680 Naira, second was at ekiti which they sold for 650 Naira and third was at lokoja which was sold for 620 naira.

Sometimes I ask myself what are the work of the government in their state concerning their road’s.

One good thing about this road to Abuja is that it is highly secure from Ogun state down to Abuja. In Fact the security was fully equipped. No attack or disruption by anybody. Although we were stopped and searched by NDLEA 3 times on the road.

No holdup on our way going, we had a lot of gist and also played some games which were interesting. It was fun. We all slept over and over again.

The states we pass through before entering Abuja are Ogun State, Oyo state, Ekiti State, kogi before Abuja. Although they have other ways to get to Abuja but this is the way I followed before getting to Abuja.

Finally, we got to our destination at Abuja by 5:39. The location where we camped that night is “kubwa area”. The man that accommodated us was also one of our tourist friends. I really appreciate him also.

It seems that Abuja was closer to the sun because every environment was warm even at night. Anyways it all went well until we left to imo state after receiving our award at Abuja jabamah.

Traveling on the road sometimes expands your knowledge on adventures and exposes you to new things.
