NB: I want to use this medium to call upon OPAY Lagos officers to call the OPAY Port Harcourt Manager to order.
NB: I blurred the face of the Mobile Police officer who was invited to arrest ME. When he heard my story, he showed much empathy. An officer and a gentleman! ✌🏾👍🏾
……
THE STORY
Four (4) weeks ago, I transferred 200k to my wife’s opay account.
opay placed a restriction on the account.
Why?
My wife called their customer care and was informed that:
1. It was a system glitch, and it’ll be rectified within 24 hours. (I’ll drop screenshots of the chat in the comment’s section soon)
By the 3RD DAY, my wife reached out to them again and they came up with another excuse.
2. They said that my wife used her opay app to transfer a recharge card of N1,000. The recipient got the recharge but my wife’s account was not debited.
“Is it my fault that your system could not deduct the N1,000? Oya nah, deduct your 1k and unfreeze my account “, my wife answered.
They promised to do so in 24 hours.
They didn’t do it!
2ND WEEK: My wife went to the opay office, same story:
“Your complaints have been escalated. It’ll be handled in 24 hours.”
3RD WEEK: I myself called one of the customer care officers, who gave the same empty promise.
So, my wife had to go to the opay office again.
And this is the heartbreak!ng part.👇
In the process of the back and forth arguments and endless waiting, my wife slumped.
All the customer service personnel ran out of the office and left my wife to her fate.
Many thanks to Mr Chimamkpam, Vichis Hez who showed up on time and rushed her to Obio Cottage Hospital, Port Harcourt.
4TH WEEK: I came to meet the manager of opay to resolve the matter amicably.
The customer service attendants initially refused to allow me see the manager.
From 9am to 12noon, they kept me waiting.
They said that the matter had been escalated but China is yet to respond.
It was then I knew that opay is owned by China.
Eventually I went upstairs to see the manager.
He said that I should go, that he has escalated the matter.
I said, “No Sir, I no gree! I need my money now, please. This is the 4th week I’ve been hearing that discordant tune.”
In opay office, Port Harcourt!
Customer complaints everywhere!
Angry and discourteous staff everywhere!
Two things:
1. I’ve brought this case to the court of public opinion: here.
2. I’ll reach out to a lawyer.
This nônsense opay Port Harcourt office is doing must STOP!
opay PH office don buy market.
opay should wait for ME.
I’m coming!
