Journalist Anastasia Odochi has penned an open letter, cautioning mothers about fostering close relationships between their daughters and pastors, warning against potential risks posed by individuals with nefarious intentions disguised as religious figures.
In her advice to mothers, Odochi urges them to be vigilant, particularly in situations where pastors display concerning behavior towards teenage girls.
She emphasizes the importance of heart-to-heart conversations, especially when pastors exhibit patterns such as excessive fondness, emotional check-ins outside of church hours, discomfort with the girl’s interactions with peers, insistence on chores, unwarranted leadership roles, inappropriate jokes, compliments on physical appearance, exclusive inquiries at home, and lingering after services.
Odochi concludes her letter with a stark warning, suggesting the presence of a group of individuals with malicious intent, masquerading as pastors, and calls for heightened awareness to counteract potential risks.
