Amusan has ascended to the 20th position on the global all-time list, solidifying her status as the reigning Commonwealth Games champion. Remarkably, she has surpassed the accomplishments of her predecessor, Alozie, by eclipsing all three of Alozie’s African records.
Her inaugural feat involved shattering Alozie’s 1999 African Games record of 12.74, as Amusan clocked an impressive 12.68 in 2019, clinching victory after a decade.
Continuing her ascent, Amusan then conquered Alozie’s 12.44 African record, posting an impressive 12.42 seconds while securing her maiden Diamond League title.
In a feat of unprecedented dominance, the sprint hurdler now boasts records across various competitions, including those of Nigeria, Nigerian Championships, African, African Games, African indoor, Commonwealth Games, World Championships, and the world itself.
