The US said Iranian-backed militants killed three US military members and wounded 25 others Sunday in a drone attack in northeastern Jordan, prompting President Joe Biden to vow retaliation.
βWhile we are still gathering the facts of this attack, we know it was carried out by radical Iran-backed militant groups operating in Syria and Iraq,β Biden said in a statement on Sunday. βAnd have no doubt β we will hold all those responsible to account at a time and in a manner our choosing.β
